The ability to monitor what matters

Goonhilly can provide day and night, all-weather Space Domain Awareness (SDA) data from our base in Cornwall, UK.

This includes:

- Data to support in-space operations

- Object surveillance

- Threat monitoring

- Other SDA tasks.

Our large antennas are ideally suited to observing deep-space objects, particularly those in geostationary orbit, with both passive RF sensing and active bistatic radar observations possible. They are operated with software-defined transmitters and receivers, and can be configured to transmit arbitrary waveforms with variable bandwidths.

As well as providing metric data such as range and radial velocity, the Radar Cross Section (RCS) of observed objects (and its variation over time) can also be calculated. Our large radio telescope also provides a wide-band spectrum monitoring capability.
