Founded in 2009, Goonhilly Earth Station Ltd (“Goonhilly®”) enables the safe, sustainable, and secure use of space, delivering reliable connectivity, data, and intelligence to organisations around the world. In August 2026, the company was acquired by Intuitive Machines, a NASDAQ-listed space infrastructure company.
In 2014, Goonhilly acquired the iconic Goonhilly Earth Station site in Cornwall, UK, on a 999-year lease. The site has been the pioneering home of satellite communications since 1962 and, under the company's stewardship, has been rejuvenated to provide world-class communication and Space Domain Awareness services befitting the modern space age.
Today, Goonhilly makes space exploration possible as an innovative commercial provider of lunar and deep space communication services. Since 2021, the company has supported more than 20 spacecraft operating beyond geostationary orbit for government and private organisations including ESA, ISRO, Intuitive Machines, and ispace inc.
The company also utilises its unique expertise and assets to support the national security objectives of the UK and allied partners via advanced radio frequency Space Domain Awareness (SDA) services, assured satcom services, and bespoke antenna development.
Goonhilly’s fellow Intuitive Machines company, COMSAT®, offers commercial satcom services. Together, the brands share operational sites in the US and UK.
